Amy Lindstom

CMHC, EMDR, ART

Hi! I’m Amy Lindstrom! I sincerely love this work so much! I am always inspired by the people I get to work with, as they courageously work to heal and recover from trauma and addiction.

My focus is reconnection with our truest self, with a lot of practical skills to help. It is so important to understand that our unwanted behaviors and experiences do not define us, instead, they are powerful indicators pointing us to where healing is needed. In my experience, lasting change happens when we better understand the meaning behind our behavior/reactions. Focusing on “white knuckling” resistance to unwanted behavior or negative reactions keeps us locked in the same cage. Instead, we will work to understand the problem this behavior was meant to solve, and we will focus on solving/healing it, so you can live with greater peace.

Through my extensive trauma training, my own life experiences, and my persistent study in wellness techniques, I know how to help uncover the origins or roots of unwanted behaviors or areas where healing is needed, to facilitate life-long change and help restore peace in your life.

I also love helping couples develop a collaborative alliance. This happens when each person commits to being their best self, through seeking understanding in open communication, self-confrontation, boundaries (different than rules), and learning skills for meaningful partnering and deep friendship in marriage. I believe, nothing in this life creates more growth and development than the institution of marriage, especially when the marriage is made up of a partnership with a collaborative alliance. It isn’t easy. Sometimes it is wildly uncomfortable. But the outcome of the investment is the most fulfilling connection this world has to offer! We work to develop strong foundations, break down old harmful patterns, learn how to move sexuality as a weapon to a powerful source of healing and connection, as it was always meant to be, and to re-establish safety and trust that is palpable.
